How to create EPUB eBook on Mac?
EPUB (short for electronic publication) is a free and open e-book standard by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF). Files have the extension .epub. EPUB is designed for reflowable content, meaning that the text display can be optimized for the particular display device. MePub for Mac can help you create EPUB eBooks from most popular formats: PDF (.pdf), MS Word (.docx), HTML (.html/.htm/.xhtml), Chm (.chm), EPUB (.epub), Images (.jpg/.png/.bmp/.gif/.tiff). Just download MePub for Mac and install it on your Mac. Launch the program and choose Evaluate to have a free trial of the program. Then follow the 3 simple steps below to create your own EPUB eBook now:
Step 1 Import book contents
Click Add button on the interface and you can quickly import local eBook contents you prepared to the program. You can also drag the files into the content area to import them into the program directly. Supported formats: PDF (.pdf), MS Word (.docx), Html (.html/.htm/.xhtml), Chm (.chm), EPUB (.epub), Image formats (.jpg/.png/.bmp/.gif/.tiff)
Note: MePub for Mac also supports encrypted PDF files. If the imported PDF file is protected with open password, you need to click on the lock icon and enter the password to unlock the file. Otherwise the open password protected content will be excluded the eBook.
Step 2 Customize
To customize your own book cover, just double click the left cover area on the interface to insert a local image as book cover. Right click on the left cover area, you can change and delete the book cover or use the default book cover.
Double click on the file name of each imported file, you can rename for the contents. And by dragging the imported files up and down, you can also change the order of the imported contents.
Click the green button at the lower-right corner, and you can customize the book info, layout and style for the output EPUB eBook.
Note: If your eBook is not written in English, please remember to choose the right language in the Book info. Otherwise text content in the output EPUB eBook will not be shown correctly.
Step 3 Create EPUB eBook
Click Create button at the lower-right corner, set an output folder in the pop-out box and wait for a little while, you can get your own EPUB eBook as you like. If you want to check your output EPUB eBook immediately on your Mac, you can use Adobe Digital Editions.
Then you can publish your own eBook if you wish. Or transfer the EPUB eBooks via iTunes, you can enjoy your eBook on your favorite e-Readers: iPad, iPhone, iTouch, Sony Reader, etc.
